The Data Entry Specialist is responsible for digitizing data for storage purposes and also responsible for a variety of tasks that result in identifying and resolving all edits designed for a project. The Data Entry Specialist work in the administrative department of a company and their duties include collecting client information, maintaining an organized filing system, and reviewing data for completeness and accuracy. The Data Entry Specialist position requires attention to detail and strong PC skills and review and edit information automatically captured by data extraction tools to make sure information data is correctly and fully stored in the database. The Data Entry Specialist focus on data entry, and compare source documents against scanned data.

Data Entry Specialist Responsibilities:

  • Receive, organize, file, and maintain documents and/or data for an assigned department/project.
  • Create, update, validate and forward various forms of communication to internal and external recipients.
  • Read, interpret, and input data in support of an assigned department/project.
  • Maintain data entry requirements by following specific guidelines and procedures.
  • Review data entry for accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
  • Maintain confidentiality in handling sensitive client information.
  • Prepare data reports and updates.

Data Entry Specialist Requirements:

  • High school diploma.
  • Ability to read, understand, interpret, input, and analyze data with a high degree of accuracy and completeness.
  • Excellent manual dexterity.
  • Highly detail-oriented
  • Experience working with data management systems and Excel
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Possess strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Professional attitude and discreet in working with confidential material.
