The Senior 3D Designer creates three-dimensional models, animations, and visual effects to be used in various creative projects such as films, video games, and advertising campaigns. The Senior 3D Designer role involves creating special effects to match specific briefs using a combination of hand-drawing techniques and computer software. The Senior 3D Designer creates graphics and animations, research upcoming projects, conceptualize designs, edit effects after feedback, and meet with clients to discuss any changes and ideas. The Senior 3D Designer should have an aptitude for art and creativity and be skilled in using different and emerging computer software. Educational requirements include a bachelor's degree in graphic design, computer sciences, or a similar field.
The Senior 3D Designer Responsibilities:
- Taking a 2D object and environment concepts into 3D game assets
- Delivering high- and low-poly 3D models for mobile platforms
- Creating basic object and particle animations that demonstrate an understanding of weight, balance, and form using Unity
- Working on realistic lighting and rendering
- Engaging in technical and aesthetic problem-solving efforts
The Senior 3D Designer Requirements:
- Experience preferred in creating 3D assets and visual effects
- A keen eye for color, light, shade, form
- Detail in creating texture maps and different material types
- Proficiency in Photoshop, Maya and/or other 3D graphics and animation tools
- Experience in creating realistic lighting and rendering
- Must have a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, plan and organize work activities, analyze the information, and manage work time efficiently
- A portfolio demonstrating your skills
